As you suggested, the problem is that I have a noexcept in a function 
that I am expecting to throw on occasion.  I should have read the code I 
returned closer before hitting send.  To my (slight) credit, I have been 
careful to remove the noexcept declarations from other functions what I 
expect to throw.
