Subject: [Boost-users] [boost] Does boost 1.70 officially support VS2019 14.2 compiler
Hi,
Does boost 1.70 officially support VS2019 14.2 compiler ?
Boost.org doesn't explicitly say that they does or doesn't support VS2019 14.2. Also they have 14.1 listed as a "primary compiler tested".
Boost.org doesn't explicitly âofficially supportâ any compiler.
(This is because NO compilers perfectly implement the imperfect and evolving C++ standard).
âWhat You See Is What You Getâ applies instead.
You need to consult the test matrix results to get a good guide.
See https://www.boost.org/development/index.html
For example, the master summary will tell you what you will get next release
https://www.boost.org/development/tests/master/developer/summary.html
to see what works (and what doesnât).
And test yourself.
Having said that, I donât see many things that 14.2 âbreaksâ (that is what worked with 14.1 also works for 14.2),
(Obviously the converse doesnât apply as 14.2 handles new features).
So the TL;DR answer to your question is probably âYesâ.
