I was out of office for some days but I don't want to miss giving feedback:
Your suggestion to expose an iterator was exactly what I was looking for.
The example shown here:

helped me to get that thing run.
The next custom geometry I have to register in boost is a circle. Let's see
how far I can go with the extensions package 'nsphere'
