the original paper is listed:

but it's behind the paywall so I don't know if the inverse projection is 
described there or is it even possible.

A quick search reveals also that someone already tried to implement the 
inverse projection in 2017 but had problems with it:

The student mentions that the inverse projection is described in the 
paper on page 14.
