Browsing for this issue some more I just came across the suggestion to
forget ublas :P
In that case disregard my question and I'll look for external solutions.
I was going to try different solutions anyway and test their speed, but
it's surprising that the functions provided with ublas don't work for
all it's storage concepts (maybe just not yet).
