Thanks for testing Mumps. It sure does sound like linking and cygwin hell.
 I have a complete intel C++ build of WinMumps that I am using (and have
tested with another library).  Maybe I can see if that works.  Where should
I get the MUMPS bindings?

 doesn't
have them anymore.
