it worked for me like this - for other's future reference
(column-compressed) :
sparse.set_filled(
sparse.index1_data().size(),
sparse.value_data().size()
) ;
Again thank you very much - had already spent a couple of hours - a pity
that so little documentation exists,
for so much work done .

documentation, or how "set_filled" must be called exactly:
