Thanks for the tips. Now I remember why I hadn't tried your code.
Your library is sitting on my computer's desktop, untried. I had
looked at it and found it promising. But I wasn't willing to compile
it using gcc and I didn't have VC 7.1. I do now and will try to take a
look some time.
