Apparently there's already a way to use git repos with mercurial, see
http://hg-git.github.com

Also, bitbucket supports both git & mercurial (
http://blog.bitbucket.org/2011/10/03/bitbucket-now-rocks-git), so at worse
it'd be a matter of some ping pongs between the real git repo and bitbucket.
