In my typical IDE setup I like to have two source files
side by side, and with my current fonts that is approximately
65.5 characters in each. I try when possible to keep
line-lengths to this. Before this set up I used to stick
to 72 characters (spot the Fortran programmer...)
So, I am not restricted to 80 characters, but I do prefer
short lines.
