Regex, bcc32 5.5.1, & STLPort 4.0

I am not able to build the regex library using the free Borland C++ 
version 5.5.1 with STLPort 4.0. 

It works if I do not use STLPort. I suspect I just have to tweek a few 
of the configuration paramiters, but it wll take me some time to 
figure out which, and I figure someone else must have solved this 
problem already, so why reinvent the wheel.

If someone has already done this could they please let me know what 
they did. If no one has done it then I work on it some time next month 
and let everyone here know how I did it.
