This is good news, I thought it is GPL ;-)

If it were GPL, a completely free license for a
wrapper would not make much sense
because the software using the wrapper would have to
be GPL anyway.

Since it is LGPL, however,
a closed source program could use that wrapper
and just link to GMP,
so a wrapper
would not only prove that the interface
is flexible enough
but could really be used in a commercial compiler.
