I sometimes find gems in the sand...

How about we do a combination.  Have the reaper daemon zip everything up
with a list of what is in it and then deleat anything older than 2 to 4
months old...  Something like:

  boost_files_200108.zip(tgz, etc.) 
  boost_files_200108.txt  (contents...)
