I certainly hope we get this one done well enough for submission at 
some point.  We aren't there yet, though.  Nothing wrong with letting 
the committee know what's going on here... some members may want to 
take an active role in evaluating and correcting design errors here.  
But they need to know we aren't ready for actual submission yet.
