Hopefully not!  I think of on steroids as "bigger" and certainly we don't want
to be bigger than ACE.  Don't get me wrong, ACE is an industrial grade solution
ported to every platform imaginable -- some that barely support C++.  Of course
it was also written b/f C++ was standardized.  Hopefully boost sockets should be
a bit lighter :-)
