Dont't forget that you should support foreign file systems on any
platform as well, ie. FAT16, NTFS etc. on Linux, ext2 on NT etc.
Windows does support file systems with case-sensitive (not only
preserving) names although NTFS and FAT32 (and probably most
programs) does not.
