Well, the Discussion Policy section of the Boost site seems plenty
written to me. In paticular, this section under "Culture" seems
appropriate:
"In addition to technical skills, Boost members value
collaboration, acknowledgement of the help of others, and
a certain level of politeness. Boost membership is very
international, and ranges widely in age and other
characteristics. Think of discussion as occurring among
colleagues in a widely read forum, rather than among a few
close friends."
Your dismissive attitude toward semaphores, and the brusque
way you addressed any discussion of them is not exactly
something I would characterize as "polite". Even if you strongly
disagree with someone, it seems that you can still do so in a
gentler way.
