I think I saw that y'all are using -e5 with Comeau, so I thought
I'd mentioned 2 other things that may or may not help:
1) 4.3.0 now supports a --context_limit=# options, which allows
one to control how much is puked out during a nested instantiation
problem.
2) Look into using Leor Zolman's STLFilt with various compilers for
"controlling" the way some template diagnostics are emitted
