In private email with several Boost developers, Nicolai Josuttis pointed
out that it is a very convenient memory aid if the documentation for every
Boost library can be found with a URL formed by just appending libname to
http://www.boost.org/libs/. For example:
http://www.boost.org/libs/lambda
Currently this works for some libraries, but not others, because the others
placed their index.htm or index.html page in .../libs/libname/doc, per our
guidelines.
The simple fix is to add a index.html entry to every .../libs/libname
directory which doesn't already have one. It would just redirect to the
docs/index.html.
The contents are just:
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=doc/index.html">
</head>
<body>
Automatic redirection failed, please go to
<a href="doc/index.html">doc/index.html</a>
</body>
</html>
This suggestion was well received, and so as an experiment I've added such
an index.html file to CVS .../libs/lambda.
Unless someone has an objection, I'll add these index.htm entries where
needed, and put a note in the guidelines adding this as normal practice.
