It's not impolite (well, it wasn't intended that way). It was intended to
informally ask you to let this issue go because it's getting tiresome. I
made an offhand remark about trying to accomodate Doug's release schedule
wishes; there's no need to make a federal case out of it (to use another
English idiomatic expression).
