I care only slightly.  Since most of these are documentation files, couldn't
the names be shortened?  If you use HTML links and don't try to address the
file's name directly, you can even get away with short names of random
letters (the exceptions are the "index.html" pages).

Couldn't the 'optional' guy shorten his "references" to "refs"?

Shouldn't we _not_ have any project files (like "*vcproj") in the archive,
except for Jam files?
