A view from a complete outsider:
Agreed. In fact, I think you all should go back and add similar cartoons
of the other release managers to the releases they managed. And there
should be a new page called the "Release Manager Hall of Fame"
containing all of the cartoons.
I'm serious. These people deserve all the recognition they can be given,
and I think the cartoon of Aleksey is a brilliantly effective way of
doing that.
Detailed and frank discussions about release procedures and how to
improve them are important, but I think it's inappropriate to discuss or
even raise the issue of the relative merits of the release managers. The
sheer amount of work being done on a volunteer basis appears staggering
to me, and I'm sure I'm only dimly aware of a small fraction of what's
being done.
