Well this one looks good to me -- hopefully it was clear that I wasn't
commenting on the logo, but the text in the side bar. And in that realm I
think it's not totally subjective. I'm no usability expert, but I'm sure
folks on this list could point us to studies which show how to improve
usability. I think my main issue is that the contrast between the navigation
aid and the text is too high. If we were setting things for maximum usability
I think you have to go to a dark backgrounds for all sections with white text
for the whole page -- which I doubt we are prepared to do...
