The proposal fully supports wide-character file names. See the i18n branch
on CVS. That branch should migrate to the CVS head real soon now.

Except for very simple libraries, proposals for standardization often differ
from the Boost version. Please read the actual proposals rather than
assuming they are exactly the same as the Boost versions. See
