Summary: xml serialization fails when using namespace

Initial Comment:
When serializing an object whose class is in a
namespace the xml serialization throws an "unrecognized
XML syntax" exception. Serializing using text or binary
archive works without problem.

The attached example shows the problem: define BUG and
it throws, undef it and it works.

It seems like the same bug was reported to the user
mailinglist in this thread:

but at that time noone guessed that the namespace is
the problem.
