Unfortunately this seems to collide with the agreement, that 1.34 is the
last official release that will support the msvc-6.5 compiler.
Another try to reach a compromise:
You termed the patch to work around the embedded callback "a ugly hack"
and want to keep the code-base clean. Ok, I can understand this very
well, and wouldn't object.
But we could apply this patch _only_ in the RC_1_34_0 branch, make
msvc-6.5 happy _and_ keep the test code base clean for further development.
Would you also object against this?
