Chris,
I agree with you that a library supporting DirectX in C++ would be
very useful, but I also agree that such a library wouldn't be
appropriate for boost, as it wouldn't be portable at all.
Don't let that put you off writing such a library though - there's no
reason that a C++ utility library for DirectX that promotes good
practices wouldn't be very useful for a number of people. It doesn't
have to be in Boost to be useful.
