I think it is relevant. So there ought to be
a different set of libraries for each version of gcc?
For each combination of BOOST_NO_IOSTREAM,
BOOST_NO_TYPEID and so on and so on? For the
misguided sake of an ABI?
I've used boost for quite a while but never been
interested in using the generic shared libraries.
