yes, that's actually how i follow the list right now, thanks! :-)
the issue i have with downloading emails or news postings before reading
them is that i move betweem machines quite a lot and whatever is local,
i have to re-download on each one; that's the reason why i asked for an
online alternative in the first place.
i reckon unless someone comes up with something like IMAP for NNTP, a
desktop newsreader is probably the way to go - postbox (and thus
thunderbird) search is fast and there's threaded display - and ignored
square brackets 9which doesn't really matter as long as there's enough
keywords in the subject to keep me from re-asking something that's been
recently discussed).
