Yes, explicit wchar_t was introduced for older msvc compiler. Obsolete
nowadays.

My best guess is the /D_STLP_DEBUG define which enables enhanced debugging
magic (iterator validation etc.) which might not be binary compatible with
Boost. Try to add "define=_STLP_DEBUG" on your commandline an see if this
helps.

And maybe look up /GR vs. /GS and most probably /MDd vs. /MTd
