popularity-contest is a project dedicated to tracking installation and
update statistics for Debian packages. Users have to opt in, and the web
interface doesn't provide graphs that are as nearly nice as Google Trends,
but the raw data may be a useful start.

Not sure if an equivalent exists for brew or chocolately.
