Everything from 'master' to 'devlop' in 'rational'
This is really two separate fixes, but I would rather not cherry-pick
the second since the first has been tested in 'develop' successfully for
Boost list run by bdawes at acm.org, gregod at cs.rpi.edu, cpdaniel at pacbell.net, john at johnmaddock.co.uk
