Hi Everyone: I found a little strange when I want to use boost message queue in real project. Do you have answers for the following problems? Thank you very much. :) Does boost mq store the information into a file? If true, how can I find it? Does I need send message before I start to receive? Because I found if I start receiver first, even the sender begin to send later, the receiver still can not get the message? It still blocked. Do you know why? How does two program share the same mq? Using the same mq name? Does the mq name can contains a real path? How much data the mq can contains? How about its performance? I can not found the answer from the documentation of boost. [boost-users] Compile and Install boost::thread from souce code on Ubuntu

Hi, there, The most updated version of boost on my Ubuntu is 1_40_0. So I choose to compile and install 1_43_0 from source code. During the building process of step 4 (mentioned bellow), I was prompted that boost::thread, boost::mpi, etc. libraries need to be compiled and installed separetly. I ignored them and finished the process. boost_tokenizer gives unexpected result

I am getting a result from the boost_tokenizer that I do not expect. I wonder if anyone could explain. I have a line which only contains one occurence of the delimiter and it happens to be the first character. I would expect tokenization to yield two tokens, The first would be the empty string, the next would be the word that occurs after the delimiter. What actually happens is there is only one token, the word I am after. I do not get the expected empty string first. This seems wrong to me. Can anyone comment please? boost.spirit.qi : how to disable semantic actions

Hi All, I'am using spirit::qi for developping a parser. Thanks boost for this great job. My issue is that I would like to test the syntax of my grammar before performing semantic actions. Is these any way to do that, I mean parse a string without performing the defined semantic actions ? Thanks in advance for any help Oli

Hi Barend, thanks for the reply. As I understand it the algorithm is not that simple but I would be happy to find out I am wrong. The requirements I have are that the "seams" cannot cut through any holes, the connect_holes algorithm does prevent seams crossing holes this but may have to create new vertices for seam "take-offs" to travel to other holes. I have tried using the QPolygon class in Qt, it has an simple implementation that just iterates around all the holes but can lead to seams crossing holes (or seams going out of the boundary of the outer polygon). Do you think an easy solution exists given these requirements? flags for VS2010 project when using boost

Hi, I am a newbie to boost and I am trying to develop an application which uses boost thread/mutex/condition/date-time classes. I now get crashes in boost::detail::basic_timed_mutex::unlock. What I suspect at this point of time is that my project settings may be wrong. Can somebody please tell me the right configuration flags etc to use when compiling an application using boost on Windows XP VS 2010. Cheers AJ

compile errors with boost::bind

Hello, I'm getting some compiler errors with boost::bind that I'm not able to figure out. It seems to me that without reading through the sources and understanding how the libraries are implemented, figuring out the cause of these errors is next to impossible... [date time] using date_facet to output to a stream once

Hi I have a an object which contains a ptime and an int mask. The mask tells me that regardless of the value stored inside the ptime object, I should display the ptime as such. If you look at the code below (set_fmt function), I set the format of a date_facet object according to some bitmasks. I now want to use this date_facet together with my ptime to output the ptime value to an outputstream?
