What does "ll" stand for?

This is for the "ll" function defined for quaternions and octonions. The function returns the 1-norm of its argument. Does anyone know what the "ll" name stands for? I finally figured out that "sup" (the infinity-norm) most likely stands for "supremum". (BTW, "abs" is the 2-norm. Passing around log levels

Is there a way to pass log levels in a variable? The following code doesn't compile: void SomeClass::Dump(boost::logging::level_type eLevel, boost::logging::logger& rLog) { BOOST_SCOPEDLOGL(rLog, eLevel) << "Some Msg" << m_iSomeMemberVariable << endl; } Compiler says: "error C2039: 'eLevel' : is not a member of 'boost::logging::level'" I think the issue is that the levels are all const ints. This is kind of important in our application. We have lots of code that knows nothing about the environment, either the logs or the levels, and needs to be compiled into different places, so it can't have the log or the log level compiled in. I suppose we could change this code to return a string and do the actual logging where the level and log are known at compile time. But that would rule out "structural" drop in replacement. So far no problems passing the log itself around, but haven't tested extensively. Thanks, Andrew

I therefore believe extremely strongly that it is necessary to have StartOfGrapheme and that the others like GetNextGrapheme or advancegrapheme will then be simple/inline wrappers that use StartOfGrapheme. Why are digital mars, como and other 'non-required' compilers in the regressions results page ( http://tinyurl.com/cdlxk )? I was expecting to see an all green condition and instead I see a bunch of failures we never really tried to resolve. I think we should remove these from the user pages.... Jeff

soname for 1.33

The "official" Redhat/Fedora rpms for boost-1.32 had set soname as e.g.: libboost_date_time.so.1 instead of libboost_date_time.so.1.32 I wonder if I should do the same for 1.33? Does anyone know if the API is compatible from 1.32 to 1.33? Or, has Redhat made a mistake in doing this?
