dynamically allocated aligned memory

I have the need to dynamically allocate a block of memory that is aligned suitably for SSE operations. I saw some discussion of this in the list archives but I can't find any resolution or library that supports this. Does something for this exist in boost? Thanks, Michael Marcin

Hi, In trunk, "boost/thread/tss.hpp" there is a missing #include <boost/thread/detail/config.hpp>. Without it tss.hpp does not compile on Linux since BOOST_THREAD_DECL is not defined to emptyness. Also, is there any ETA on http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/ticket/1867 ? I'm asking because I'm using the missing methods and this problem breaks the code on Windows. Is there any hope it will be fixed in 1.35.1 (if it gets released) or 1.36?

The 1.36.0 release schedule has been set. For details, see http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/wiki/ReleaseSchedule The milestones are: *Note well: Changes must always be committed to trunk and be stable on trunk regression testing before being merged to branches/release.* * *May, 2008:* branches/release opens for all stable changes, including bug fixes, major library upgrades, and, with permission, new libraries. Breaking changes should be coordinated with libraries affected. * *June 19, 2008:* branches/release closes for new libraries and major upgrades or breaking changes to existing libraries. Still open for bug fixes and minor changes to all libraries. * *July 3, 2008:* branches/release closes for routine minor changes and fixes. [format] Compiler error when using the Sun compiler.

Can someone please assist? This code below doesn't compile when I use the Sun compiler. My company is currently using boost 1.33.0, and I cannot do anything about that, but I want to use boost::format. What modification can I make to the format files to fix this issue? [GSOC] Safe variable template class, input wanted!

Hello boost developers, My mentor and I are working on a safe variable template class this summer in the spirit of the GSOC even though we where not selected to get any funds for it. [random] patch to make random compile with warnings=all

AMDG boost/random/detail/signed_unsigned_tools.hpp has specializations of make_unsigned for long long. gcc rejects this when compiling with -ansi -pedantic. The attached patch replaces random::detail::make_unsigned with the TypeTraits version. Ok to commit? In Christ, Steven Watanabe

I'm in unfamiliar territory here, so there's probably more that can be done to help with compile-time efficiency and whatnot. It also still needs some more tests on the checked_ops and the ratio operators but I've run out of time for now (and I'm sure you have a proper test-suite somewhere ;-). IIUC, I *think* that only leaves dealing with the conditionals related to the optional convenience SI typedefs. Hope that helps, Darren

Hello, me and my compiler think that there is an error in this file: cxx: Error: ../boost/interprocess/allocators/detail/node_pool.hpp, line 334: expression must have (pointer-to-) function type (exprnotptrfun) { this->purge_blocks()(); } ------^ This should probably read 'this->purge_blocks();', without the extra pair of brackets.
