[function] allocator_test breakage

Hello, a number of compilers (Intel, Acc, Cxx, Sun, Borland) currently have troubles compiling this test. All compilers are giving the same error message, namely that they can't convert from const functor_wrapper<...> to const counting_allocator<functor_wrapper<...> > & at boost/function/function_base.hpp:435 The test passes for me (using cxx 7.1) when applying the attached patch. I'm not really sure that this is the right fix, so could the someone please take a look, and possibly apply the patch if it's OK? Pre-commit hook failed?

I'm trying to commit a change to a file and I'm getting this error: Commit failed (details follow): MERGE request failed on '/svn/boost/trunk/libs/exception/doc/source' 'pre-commit' hook failed with error output: That's all I get. Any clues? I've made changes to the same file several times before and I have never experienced this problem. [serialization][portable_binary_archive] ld: duplicate symbol error

Using the latest portable_binary_archive from the vault with boost 1.34.1 on Mac XCode 3 I'm getting a linker duplicate symbol error: ld: duplicate symbol boost::archive::basic_binary_oarchive<portable_binary_oarchive> ::save_override(boost::archive::class_id_optional_type const&, int) in .../Persistence.build/Debug/CxxTest.build/Objects-normal/ppc/AAA.o and .../Persistence.build/Debug/CxxTest.build/Objects-normal/ppc/BBB.o Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated. This succesfully compiles/links and runs when built on MSVC 8. Thanks, Jeff

BOOST documentation in PDF/PS format

Hello, I am looking for the BOOST library in either PDF/PS formats so that I can print the ones I need and read them offline (which I generally prefer). Reading though the boost documenting link, it appears quite a daunting task to setup boost doc build to generate PDF files (it has a bunch of dependencies). Is there any location from where I can download the PDF files for the current release version of BOOST or any plans for providing the same in the near future? with best regards, dhruva -- Contents reflect my personal views only!

result_of problem with VC8 (header depdendencies)

Change the inclusion order of result_of and functions.hpp and it compiles with VC8 too. Looks like a bug in VC8. Does anybody know any workaround for this besides enforcing the header order? Select Implementation using Boost.Fusion

Okay, as an exercise I implemented the select function object in terms of Boost.Fusion's at_c<> sequence accessor function. The implementation is attached -- which works with standard containers that contain either standard pairs, or fusion sequences. This implementation relies on Boost.Fusion's adapted pair implementation to turn ordinary std::pair<>'s contained in a standard container (map, vector of pairs, etc) into fusion sequences. This implementation is much shorter than the earlier versions I've posted before. Should this be part of Boost.Fusion, or if there's interest should this little utility undergo a review for inclusion in Boost?
