However Ilya Sokolov told me that PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is wrong -- it tells you what processor you have, not what kind of OS you have. And you cannot run 64-bit binaries on a 32-bit windows. According to Ilya, PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER is x86 on win32, whatever the actual processor might be. Hi, I recently tried to build boost 64bits on an intel EM64T (core 2 duo) with msvc. And bjam incorrectly selected the x86_amd64 toolset (cross compiler) instead of the amd64 one (native 64bits compiler). In the file boost/tools/build/v2/tools/msvc.jam at the line 314 the check is: if [ MATCH ^(AMD64) : [ os.environ PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER ] ] should it be if [ MATCH ^(AMD64) : [ os.environ PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE ] ] or if [ MATCH ^(AMD64) : [ os.environ PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER ] || MATCH ^(EM64T) : [ os.environ PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER ] ] (not certain about the syntax) My os environement are: PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=AMD64 PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER=EM64T Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6, GenuineIntel Regards, Ps: perhaps I should post this on boost.build ? -- Cédric Venet

[1.35.0] Merge for release complete.

The merge into branches/release "from" point was the 1.34.1 release. The "to" point was the trunk at revision 41356. This is very similar to a traditional *branch* for release. The effective difference is that a library can be easily reverted to 1.34.1. Hopefully, no libraries will have to be reverted. But we will do just that for any libraries not ready in the next ten days. The Unresolved Issues reports should now be reflecting the high-priority platforms the release managers will be using to make that determination. I'd like developers to hold off merging any changes since 41356 into branches/release until Friday. I'm going to be traveling until then and would like to be available for discussion as we open branches/release up for developer merging. Hi, The documentation can't be built at the moment because of a work around in the date time documentation jamfile for an old boost build bug, Frank Mori Hess posted a patch to fix this: http://lists.boost.org/Archives/boost/2007/09/127332.php Is it okay to apply it? Daniel
