It second day while I am trying to download boost trunk from svn. I am running svn co command using TortoiseSVN First it's rediculously slow. Bandwidth jumps inbetween 0 and 2 k/sec, with ome visible pause once in a while. Second it fails every 10-15 minutes reporting lost connection. Am I doing something wrong? Is there better way? Please advise, Gennadiy

[filesystem] strange filenames created by tests confuse svn client

[this message is about the release branch, but it likely applies to the trunk as well] Hello, in boost/status/ there are files with strange names. I suspect these have been created by some test belonging to Boost.Filesystem. I further suspect that these tests assume a certain character encoding. Hello, compiling the following in CW 8.3 against the trunk: #include <boost/type_traits/is_member_pointer.hpp> int main() { } results in the errors: Error : ',' expected is_member_pointer.hpp line 50 template< typename T, typename U > struct is_member_pointer< U T::*const > : ::boost::integral_constant<bool,true> { }; [...] This comes from the latest change to is_member_pointer.hpp to deal with cv qualified pointers, see http://tinyurl.com/2q835l . Seemingly, CW 8.3 can't handle the cv qualifiers as used in the three extra BOOST_TT_AUX_BOOL_TRAIT_PARTIAL_SPEC1_2 at lines 50-52. The attached patch simply reverts the change for CW 8.3. [range] vc7.1 array workaround

Hi, For some msvc-7.1 bug, if you pass an array to boost::begin, a form `range_iterator<const T>` in template< class T > inline BOOST_DEDUCED_TYPENAME range_iterator<const T>::type begin( const T& r ); knocks down the partial specialization system of msvc-7.1. I might find a workaround. See: http://tinyurl.com/yraqje This is msvc-7.1 specific range_iterator. (In fact, any conforming compiler should work. I hope boosters' code review. :-) If this is installed, all the tests compile on msvc-7.1. And all the tests except for iterator_range/sub_range pass. [serialization] patches to fix DLL support on Windows

Currently, there are a small collection of bugs in the trunk version of Boost.Serialization that prevent the libraries from compiling as a Windows DLL. Most of these problems relate to missing dllimport/dllexport directives or, in a couple places, to directives that shouldn't be there. Attached are patches to several files to correct these issues.
