Hello, This is not a formal review of the Intrusive library, but from what I briefly gathered, the design, implementation, and documentation is excellent. However I have one suggestion for the documentation: iunordered_set, iunordered_multiset, and islist containers expect the same slist_algorithms interface for its node. Also the slist_algorithms interface is a subset of the list_algorithms interface. So a type with any one of the iunordered_set/iunordered_multiset/islist/ilist hooks is compatible with iunordered_set/iunordered_multiset/islist containers. I think this interchangeability should be mentioned in the same section that describes iunordered_set/iunordered_multiset/islist/ilist hooks, since this is a very desirable and powerful feature. RT

This issue will become more apparent once the csv file is updated to support the new DST rules for the US. Dates from 2007 forward will be correct, but differentials calculated with years prior to 2007 may be incorrect. For instance if you do a "seconds since epoch" conversion on a date between March 12, 2006 and April 2, 2006 (gap between old rules and new rules), the result will be skewed by 3600 seconds (one hour). Precisely, given a template graph T and a test graph G, I'd like to detect all the subgraph of G that match exactly the template T. But unfortunately when I do that, it looks like the exception is caught silently, and -1 is returned. I couldn't find where that was done in boost::iostream (the only exception silently caught are when you .close() the stream). I'm starting to suspect it's mingw that does it or something. Hello, I was wondering if there's interest in a smart pointer, which is able to cope with circular references. I think it would make a nice addition to the smart_ptr classes already in boost. I have a library almost ready, which can solve the problem where: - class A contains a pointer to class B - class B contains a pointer to class A - and it is not known wether the "master" of these two is A or B. With "master", I mean which pointer is the pointer that is kept alive from the execution thread. For example, if we would implement this with shared_ptr and weak_ptr, we would most likely have the following: - class A contains a shared_ptr to class B - class B contains a weak_ptr to class A - the execution thread contains a shared_ptr Ptr to class A. In this case, if I where to assign Ptr = B, A would be erased, since A no longer is referenced (weak_ptr references don't count reference-counter wise). The code I have aims to solve this problem, by using two types of pointers. The execution thread will work with boost::intrusive_ptr (which are allocated on the stack) while classes wishing to point to other classes, will use a new type of pointer (named 'reference') that I designed. This pointer is aware of the owner of the pointer, in addition of the object it points to. The implementation uses only standard C++ code, with some help from boost (notably boost::intrusive_ptr and, in the case of multithreading environments, boost::thread). Anyways, I am wondering if people are interested. :) Can't imagine that it wouldn't be of use to at least some of you. ;) For status info: I am currently ironing out some minor bugs and implementing STL-type collection classes (like the equivalent of a std::list<MyClass*> ) for these pointers, as they have non-standard initialization semantics. The recent change to the home page overwrote a considerable number of changes that where done to the home page. The changes where lost because they where *not* in the CVS version of the home page. We have a page outlining this precise situation and hence why it's important to make the changes to CVS <http://boost.org/more/updating_the_website.html>. But now I need your help. We need to recover the changes we lost. If you know of changes to the home page that we should have please post them so I can integrate them back into the home page (and the CVS copy of it).
