[python][iostreams][configure script] build/install issues

Issue 0: The configure script seems to not have been updated for BBv2. It is working OK by chance because the -sXXXX options it passes are just not relevant under BBv2. Doug, can you update it? Issue 1: My system didn't have bzlib.h and compilation was unceremoniously failing. Should the configure script detect this condition (and the lack of zlib) and set NO_BZIP2 and NO_ZLIB appropriately? Issue 2 (or maybe this is issue 0 again): I notice the configure script is detecting my PYTHON_ROOT and PYTHON_VERSION, but Boost.Build now handles that job itself (see the logic in tools/build/v2/tools/python.jam). Hi, When I try running the configure script on Ubuntu I get: daniel@bah:~/src/boost$ ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/boost test: 180: ==: unexpected operator test: 193: ==: unexpected operator test: 213: ==: unexpected operator test: 218: ==: unexpected operator test: 222: ==: unexpected operator test: 226: ==: unexpected operator test: 243: ==: unexpected operator This is because Ubuntu now links /bin/sh to dash (the script works fine when called with bash). The bash man page says: string1 == string2 True if the strings are equal. = may be used in place of == for strict POSIX compliance. So I've attached a patch which uses '=' instead of '==' which seems to do the trick. Daniel

The documentation in http://boost.org/more/separate_compilation.html states that: these headers fix the ABI to the default used by the compiler, and if the user attempts to compile the source with any other setting then they will get compiler errors if there are any conflicts. If these headers really fix the ABI to the compiler's *default*, is there any point in creating all these libraries with special mangled names? Does the documentation really mean to say the headers fix the ABI to the settings with which we build the Boost binaries (or something like that)? Or have I misunderstood this whole thing? [GIL] color_converted_view with any_image_view

Hi there I just tried to convert an arbitrary jpeg image to a grayscale image and write it to a png file. The attached file fails to compile, because there is no pixel_t in an any_image_view. The compile acually complains about a missing static "make" method. This is because of sfinae applies when SrcView is substituted by any_image_view in this structure template: image_view_factory.hpp:102: template <typename SrcView, typename DstP, typename CC=default_color_converter> struct color_converted_view_type : public detail::_color_converted_view_type<SrcView, CC, DstP, typename SrcView::pixel_t> { GIL_CLASS_REQUIRE(DstP, GIL, MutableHeterogeneousPixelConcept); }; How do I have to adapt the color conversion to work with any_image_views?
