My biggest recommendation: If you write a review, please spend an hour to watch the GIL video presentation. That will give you a better feel for GIL. Cross compiling boost

Hello, I would like to cross-compile boost for XScale based system. Has anybody done this? I need to redefine commands: gcc, g++, ar, ld, as, strip, objdump, etc.. so during build process are executed commands from producer-provided toolchain (this is gcc-3.3.2 that produces binaries for XScale). Thankyou for any help, references to appropriate documentation are welcome. Best regards, bma.

Hello again.. I decided to go for Spirit to solve my problem (replacing $variable in string), and I made my own grammar to parse the string.. Now the problems that I have to face with and have no idea how to solve them: 1st) there should be keywords in the grammar/scanner class from some vector <string> which is outside the scanner class that scanner should look for (to be used with definition).. I have no idea what would be the right way to pass/give/read them from scanner class 2nd) when I find a match with scanner class I call [function(self.matched)].. How to pass 2 arguments or more? For instance I will have to pass 3 arguments from $random(1,2,3) + variable name.. so call_some_func("random", 1, 2, 3); How should I solve that? Maybe any example available? [ptr_container] request to make ptr_map expected failure on HP-UX/aCC

On both Tru64/cxx and HP-UX/aCC, the only failing ptr_container library test is ptr_map. On both platforms, it fails to compile with the same compilation errors: "../libs/ptr_container/test/ptr_map.cpp", line 328: error #2158: expression must be an lvalue or a function designator map_type::pointer a_pointer = &*m2.begin(); "../libs/ptr_container/test/ptr_map.cpp", line 330: error #2158: expression must be an lvalue or a function designator map_type::const_pointer a_cpointer = &*const_begin(m2); In the explicit-failures-markup, ptr_map is marked as expected failure for a number of toolsets including "hp_cxx-71_006_tru64". Based on the above, can "acc" be added to the list of toolsets for this test, in both CVS head and the RC branch? For now, because of this test, on metacomm test site, the ptr_container library appears as broken on HP-UX/aCC. The Note by Thorsten Ottosen associated with ptr_map states, that "For hp, this compiler bug is insignificant.". What exactly the bug is? We want to be sure, that EDG is aware of it. Hallo, a few months ago there was a discussion on how a database interface library would be a welcome addition to TR2 and the SOCI developers suggested that SOCI could be a valid candidate for that role (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.devel/140816) They also mentioned their intention to make SOCI ready for submission to Boost. Was any progress made on this issue? Is there any interest in reopening the discussion on such a library, SOCI submission notwithstanding? Cheers, Nicola Musatti
