progress.hpp uses std::endl and includes only <iostream> I read the following at http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.c++/browse_thread/thread/ef96516cd… "Note: while most implementations will work without it, the declaration for 'endl' is provided by <ostream>. It is allowed to be, but not required to be, provided by <iostream>. 'endl' is also in namespace 'std'. (Its 'full name' is 'std::endl')" Shouldn't <ostream> be included?

[iterator] Typo in documentation

In file http://boost.org/libs/iterator/doc/iterator_facade.html operator < (iterator_facade<...> const& lhs, iterator_facade<...> const& rhs); Returns: if is_convertible<Dr2,Dr1>::value then ((Dr1 const&)lhs).distance_to((Dr2 const&)rhs) < 0. Should By ((Dr1 const&)lhs).distance_to((Dr2 const&)rhs) > 0. Same with other operators.

Boost Accepted Libraries and CVS problems

Hi, Regarding: http://www.boost.org/more/formal_review_schedule.html == TR1 BY John Maddock already "seems" to be CVS but the it says "Accepted -- not yet added"? Can the docs be updated please? == Circular Buffer Jan Gaspar reviewd in 2004" says "Accepted -- not yet added". IS this one EVER going to make it into Boost CVS. If not then I think the status should be updated to something like "Library no longer available" instead of giving Boosters the wrong impression. == ALSO looking forward for the following accepted libraries to be in CVS soon. - Boost.MPI - Boost.PropertyTree I think Boost should make it a requirement that if a library has been "accepted" then it should be added to CVS "as is" in a "very minimal" timeframe and bug fixes/updates should carry on as usual. Who knows if the original author disappears then atleast we have the code base and someone else may be willing to maintain it. Thanks Shams

The documentation for boost::pool indicates the presence of a member function get_requested_size(). This appears to be missing (in Boost 1.33.1).

I agree, and GIL provides orthogonal ways of extending them. You can use iterator and locator adapters (such as PixelStepIterator) to define coordinate space transformations. Separately, you can use pixel dereference adaptors to define color space transformations. It is not always possible to provide generic definitions for the appropriate type to hold the result of an arithmetic operation. There are often multiple different choices which vary between speed and precision. For example, double may be a more precise holder of the result of float + float, but often float is a reasonable holder. It really depends on the requirements for your task. This is why GIL's policy right now is to allow the client to specify the type of the result as a template parameter. Either way, if we end up using promotion traits, the proper place to place them will be together with imaging algorithms, in the future "numerics" extension. Lubomir

Boost libraries after C++0x acceptance

Hi, I am wanting to know what is going to happen to the boost libraries (eg. boost.regex, boost.filesystem) once the standard C++ implementation is released. Are these libraries then going to be deprecated/disappear from boost thus everyone uses the one available in the standard or will boost authors "still" keep developing and improving/enhancing the them as part of boost (which actually IMHO will be a good thing because boosters can then retain, introduce and enhance features that the standard might not want to accept). What do you think? Also boost libraries that would have been accepted into the standard will vendors (eg. dinkumware) likely to implement their own versions or use the boost implementations instead of reinventing the wheel?
