In the mean time you can download the library at: http://opensource.adobe.com/gil The Generic Image Library (GIL) is a C++ library that abstracts the image representation from operations on images. It allows for writing the image processing algorithm once and having it work for images in any color space, channel depth and pixel organization, or even synthetic images, without compromising the performance. GIL has an extension mechanism that allows for adding extra functionality. Two extensions are currently provided – one for image I/O and one for handling images whose properties are specified at run-time. Hi, all! I wrote a proposal for TR2 about add combination against std::permutation. Because my bad ability in English, can anybody edit this report? And can anybody commit this proposal to WG21? One year ago, I wrote a email to the libstdc++ group for the combination, and they said that I should commit this to the Boost. I wrote a email to this mailing list one month ago, but nobody replies me. Maybe I should write the proposal for TR2. Now I wrote a draft. Because the combination and the permutation are a pair in the Mathematics. So it's needed to provide combination against the std::permutation. I have implemented the combination for several years. Now, I think my implementation is very pithy and is parallel to the permutation's implementation. The difference between combination and permutation is that combination needs initialization functions and the elements are divided into two ranges, selected and unselected. The combination is several times slow than the permutation. Containers with typed indexing for [], .at()

Hello All, I'm wondering if there's an interest in a container wrapper that will more strongly type indexing via the [] operator and .at() function. The purpose would be mainly for handling communications packets, where specific indices have distinct meanings. A container can be created that will allow only a specific enum types to be used as an index, lessening the possibility that the wrong indices are used for a container. Hi People, A few months ago I read someone (can't remember who, sorry) recommending the use of 2 working copies (one for the head and one for the release candidate) instead of swithicng back and forth one and the other. Asumming that is indeed a good idea, can anyone confirm the following release procedures? The Boost Vault Spook.

Hi, The boost vault spook has appeared agin. Last time the spook thought it would be funny to set all my download counts to zero. This time the spook did the same and then decided to lock me out of my vault account. I will catch the spook, but meanwhile I would like someone to delete the fusion_example.zip file in The Generic Programming directory of the Vault. I have replaced it with inner_product.zip in the same directory, so there is no point in downloading the original as it has been superceded, but there is no way for me to get at it myself to delete it. My usual tactic for third-party libraries in such cases is to suppress the CRT tracking for the affected code. This is how I deal with the abundant "leaks" from Python due to not calling Py_Finalize(), for example. In this case, though, the allocations are pre-main() and I can't get a suppression hook in ahead of it. I realize that these aren't true leaks, and that there is some reluctance to ferret out such situations at the moment due to the lack of support for Py_Finalize(), but this generates a *lot* of leak reports and makes it very difficult to recognize true leaks. It was actually making me consider not using extract<> at all. I realized that was an overreaction, so instead I added a destructor for struct boost::python::converter::registration that explicitly walks and deletes the singly-linked list nodes contained therein.
