[serialization][cw] lib not building

Boost.Serialization is currently not building for CodeWarrior with the following error message: ### mwcc Compiler: # In: ..\boost\archive\impl\basic_binary_iprimitive.ipp # From: ..\libs\serialization\src\binary_iarchive.cpp # ------------------------------------------------------ # 164: return this->basic_streambuf<Elem, Tr>::sync(); # Error: ^ # '(' expected (see http://tinyurl.com/clsph) This is a long known problem of CW compilers, which is devoted several workarounds throughout (see for instance boost/archive/impl/text_oarchive_impl.ipp). The attached patch to boost/archive/impl/basic_binary_iprimitive.ipp mereley uses the same technique to overcome the problem. I can't test it beforehand but I'm pretty confident it'll work. OK to commit? [serialization] How to implement serialized classes in two DLLs

Hi robert, We have been in touch about workaround or a better code organisation for avoiding any assert in extended_type_info.cpp @ line#71 if one tries to upload two different classes, each one implemented in its own DLL, see thread http://lists.boost.org/boost-users/2006/02/16839.php. During our discussion, you have mentioned a related "test", but I didn't find it within the boost distribution. So my questions are: 1. Could you give me the name of the test, the names of the test files; 2. Do you have tested my example, see the zip file, that demonstrates the assert; 3. Is it possible to comment the assert code in extended_type_info.cpp? 4. Do you have any other related links? Furthermore any complete recommendation would be welcomed because we are not able to progress in our developments without this issue. Thank you by advance to handle my request. I wouldn't mind volunteering to document some of the other boost classes using the above method.

Nested Boost Binds

I'm new to boost libraries, sorry if this is an off topic question. I have the following problem: I want to call method from the PDC class indirectly from another class (Component). Method1 from the Component class should be invoked by asynchronous timer. When I do call like this: y.Method1(10, boost::bind (DPC::Print1, &x, 2)); Everything works When I do call like this: t.async_wait(boost::bind(boost::bind(DPC::Print1,&x, 2), &t)); Everything works either But when I try to perform indirect call of Print1 from Method1 which is called by a timer compiler reports a lot of bugs in the boost::bind code (see part of the log) t.async_wait(boost::bind(boost::bind(Component::Method1, &y, 10, boost::bind (DPC::Print1, &x, 2)), &t)); or t.async_wait(boost::bind(Component::Method1, &y, 10, boost::bind (DPC::Print1, &x, 2), &t)); Maybe somebody had the similar problem before or knows how to solve it. [database] - guid class

I can not find a guid/uuid class. Is there a guid/uuid class out there? I develop with Windows and found the strut GUID in <guiddef.h>, but I am looking for a class that has the member functions one would expect with a value class (ie comparison, equality, ...). I created a simple guid class and I am wondering if any one else would find it useful. I have read on this list about a proposed database library and I believe that it should have a guid class.
