Dear Sir/Madam, I want to design a new IPC for Linux(Which can be extended for windows and mac also) as a project in Google Summer of Code. I have already started it and developed its very basic prototype. I have also written the proposal according to your format. But I could not find the email id where I can send my proposal. I have used your irc but hardly anyone were available there. Can u kindly provide me the links where I can send my project proposal and direcly interact with the mentors. [format] Mistake in documentation

The current documentation ( http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_49_0/libs/format/doc/format.html) says: "In the Open-group specification, referring to the same argument several times (e.g. *"%1$d %1$d"*) has undefined behaviour." Perhaps it was right some time ago, but it's not longer true. The Open-group specification ( http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/functions/fprintf.html) explicitly allows this: "In format strings containing the "%*n*$" form of conversion specification, numbered arguments in the argument list can be referenced from the format string as many times as required." has_member_fnc?

It seems c++11 has a new way to spell enable_if, and this can be used to implement has_member_fnc, as in this example: http://pastebin.com/mH2cZ4NP I wonder if has_member_fnc would be a good addition to boost?

[range] adaptors and member functions pointers

Hi, While transforming and filtering sequences, it's pretty common to call the elements' member functions, so I think it's worth adding some syntactic sugar for range adaptors in order to achieve cleaner syntax. E.g. if we have a class struct Foo { std::string description() const; }; and we want to get all non-empty descriptions, we could just write this clean code: foo_list | transformed(&Foo::description) | filtered(&std::string::size) To enable this syntax, the attached patch should be applied to boost/range/adaptor/argument_fwd.hpp (diff against 1.47.0). Is there any interest to add this to Boost.Range? Thanks, Maxim

[thread] Jamfile issue

Hello, In my own Jamfile targets, if I refer to Boost Thread as: alias thread : $(boost)//thread ; I get: error: No best alternative for boost_1_48_0/libs/thread/build/thread_sources next alternative: required properties: <threadapi>win32 <threading>multi not matched next alternative: required properties: <threadapi>pthread <threading>multi not matched I could do this instead: alias thread : $(boost)//thread/<threadapi>win32 ; But that clumsy, I'd be dispatching between POSIX and WIN32 configurations, which ideally should be done internally by Boost Thread's Jamfile. Hello all, The trunk regressions tests: http://beta.boost.org/development/tests/trunk/developer/summary.html Run on MSVC 9.0 "STL port 5.2" and "WM5 STL port 5.2" on VeecoFTC: msvc- 9.0~stlport5.2 msvc- 9.0~wm5~stlport5.2 What are those? How are they different from the tests that run on MSVC 9.0 "msvc-9.0" on RW_WinXP_VC? [scope_exit] can MSVC lambdas capture data members?
