As of 1.49, I am completely unable to build boost with PDB files using VS2010

Whatever changes were made in 1.49 made it impossible for me to build a debug version of the boost libraries with PDB files. I am using the following command line: ----- bootstrap b2 --without-mpi --without-python --build-dir=vc100-bld-64-bit --build-type=complete --toolset=msvc-10.0 --stagedir=64-bit-vc100 debug-symbols=on debug-store=database ----- I am getting errors like: libs\math\build\..\src\tr1\assoc_laguerre.cpp(6) : error C2858: command-line option 'program database name (/Fde:\dev\devel\libs\boost\boost_1_49_0\vc100-bld-64-bit\boost\bin.v2\libs\math\build\msvc-10.0\debug\debug-store-database\link-static\runtime-link -static\libboost_math_tr1-vc100-sgd-1_49.pdb)' inconsistent with precompiled header, which used '/Fde:\dev\devel\libs\boost\boost_1_49_0\vc100.pdb' libs\math\build\..\src\tr1\assoc_laguerre.cpp(6) : error C2859: e:\dev\devel\libs\boost\boost_1_49_0\vc100-bld-64-bit\boost\bin.v2\libs\math\build\msvc-10.0\debug\debug-store-database\link-static\runtime-link-static\libboost_math_tr1-vc100-sgd-1_49.pdb is not the pdb file that was used when this precompiled header was created, recreate the precompiled header. I've tried turning off precompiled headers using pch=off, but still get errors preventing me from building. I have to completely remove the debug-store=database build option to get a build, but then I have no PDB files at all for the boost libraries. Thanks for any help, Michael Goldshteyn

Hello, I am Devashish Tyagi, an Undergraduate Student of Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. I am currently in my Third Year. I have a considerable experience of coding in C++ and strong background in the field of Algorithms. I would like to be part of Boost C++ Library for GSoC 2012. I went through the Ideas page here<https://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/wiki/SoC2012>. I would like to extend Boost.Graph by implementing the requests mentioned on this page<http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_49_0/libs/graph/doc/challenge.html>. Among the Challenges mentioned, I am particularly interested in implementing Dynamic Graph Algorithms and a minimum cost maximum flow Algorithm. Could someone guide me as to from where should I begin my research and Is there a priority order among the requests/challanges mentioned on this page<http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_49_0/libs/graph/doc/challenge.html>. Boost.Build maintenance

[xpressive] Compiler error; seems like normal usage?

My regex is as follows: sregex re = "Content-Disposition:" >> +_s >> (s1=!"inline;") >> -*_ >> "size=" >> (s2=+_d) >> ';' ; This seems to be the part causing the compiler errors: (s1=!"inline;") When I change it to this: !(s1="inline;") It compiles just fine. I'm on VS2008 SP1. Anyone know why the former usage does not work? I still want the group to capture an empty string if the string "inline;" does not match, which is why I put the ! inside the capture group. Does this matter? --------- Robert Dailey

Would really appreciate if ticket 6631 is a Boost bug that I can patch for Debian, or whether it is just API breakage that boost-using packages (like luabind) must adapt to. Boost B-Tree Library Status

Beman et al, Is the Boost B-tree Library still on track to be proposed? The reception at BoostCON 2011 was quite warm, IIRC. http://github.com/boostcon/2011_presentations/raw/master/tue/proposed_b_tre… Activity on github seems to be dried up. https://github.com/Beman/Boost-Btree Also, how well do you think it would work with large keys and small payloads (512 byte keys, a few integers for payload). [GIL] gil/metafunctions.hpp broken in 1.49?

I may be mistaken, but it looks like boost::mpl::vector_c may have been moved from <boost/mpl/vector.hpp> to <boost/mpl/vector_c.hpp> and it appears <boost/gil/metafunctions.hpp> has not been updated to reflect this change. Cheers! Andrew Hundt

Using an element of a class A in a constructor of a class B (reflection with boost::python)

Hello The situation is as follow. I have a C++ code that I haven't written and that I barely can modified. I am supposed to reflect this code in Python with boost. In the code, I have something looking like this: Class A_Base { A_Base(){}; ~A_Base(){}; Whatever virtual and pure virtual functions; } Class A_Derived{ A_Derived(Type1 arg1,...){whatever instructions;} ~A_Derived(){}; Whatever functions; } Class B { B(A_Base& aBase, double& x){}; ~B(){}; Whatever functions; } In the C++ main, at some point aDerived A_Derived is set, and then B(aDerived, x). I need to reflect that under python. Until now, I have been able, with a simple example, to reflect a function f, which is not a ctor, from a class B using A_Base& as argument type, but I can't figure out how to deal with it for a constructor. Based on: http://wiki.python.org/moin/boost.python/ExportingClasses I am declaring f under both its class B and A_Base as follow: .def("f", &B::f) But when I try this for a constructor as f, it refuse to compile. Anyone got a clue? Thank you very much in advance for any further help.
