I think its pretty insulting to call it spam. Joaquin, and others, are trying to provide a useful service with value to the authors. Insulting his work is demotivating, and let me tell you - the mailing list needs the activity because it is looking pretty dead these days. Just because you personally do not find value in it, does not mean it belongs elsewhere.
