Comment (by anonymous):
I created this patch in September 2010 for building Debian packages of
Boost libraries. The goal is that the installed libraries do not have
rpath hardcoded for reasons given.
Recently, I created Debian packages from the 1.46.1 Boost sources that
also install the Boost.Build files. Unfortunately, my change now shows up
in the installed gcc.jam file, which means that ordinary users that prefer
or require the rpath encoding for their work suddenly don't have it. See
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=619766. Can you help me
turn the patch into a feature that I can switch off for vendor library
builds but let others embed rpath when necessary?
