I suggest that the Getting Started docs should mention:
- Installing dependencies, in particular zlib-dev packages, before
building. (zlib always seems to catch me out!)
- Checking which dependencies b2 has and hasn't found before they scroll
off the top of the screen.
- How to re-run b2 after installing missing dependencies; b2 doesn't
automatically detect that e.g. zlib-dev has been installed and caches the
previous state, so --reconfigure is needed.
