Doh... it only hits me now what the problem is...

You have:

subproject SubDir ;

exe server : <template>q_exe_console main.cpp
: 
: debug
<runtime-link>static
;

But the template reference has to be a relative reference because it is a
target. So this should work instead...

subproject SubDir ;

exe server : <template>../q_exe_console main.cpp
: 
: debug
<runtime-link>static
;

It turns out I did it that way instinctively and therefore didn't notice the
difference :-)
